You Make Me Smile - RCC46

I've been MIA from challenges lately.  So much so, that one of my bloggin' buds checked in with me the other day.  I'm still here - I just haven't had much chance to play along lately.  However, an unexpected trip to "the cool scrapbook store with the toys and red chairs," as my son describes it, got me in the groove again.

The RCC has an anything challenge this week so it made it easy to play along while I get some mojo back.  This Basic Grey paper from the scrap store struck me and I knew exactly what to do with it when I saw it.

A closer view of the embellishment area...looks a little bright here, sorry 'bout that!

The inside of the card.  Yep, still liking this idea of decorating the inside too.

I actually have a recipient in mind for this card - so exciting!!  Usually I get inspired to create something and have no idea who to give or send it to.  Not this time!  And that makes me smile.  :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies: all CTMH unless otherwise noted.
pattern paper - Basic Grey

Lego Party Mania

Here are a few highlights (and my projects) from the celebrations this weekend.  Enjoy!
From Pintrest...the tablecloth ceiling decor.

Balloons as legos on the wall.

My banner creation from an earlier post....which I apparently forgot to photo - whoops!

Lego cakes in every color.

He had a great weekend and we had so much fun.  My favorite moment from Friday was when he tilted a wrapped present and heard legos inside.  He screamed, "It's new Legos!!" and the expression on his face was priceless.  Too bad my camera didn't catch anything more than a blur.  I'm not sure there's a camera fast enough to capture a 4 year old who has just discovered there's legos inside a present.  :)  Sunday's party was awesome.  The weather was beautiful and he had a great time playing with everyone outside after lunch, cake and presents.  It was so nice to have all of the family there together and we had a fabulous time.

Happy Birthday B!

Just a quick post today to celebrate my minis birthday.  I can't believe he's 4 already!!  Where does the time go?  He's getting nearly a full weekend of celebration (lucky duck) and I'll be back Monday with some photos of the festivities and the projects I created for the celebration.

Have a great weekend,

Fall Retreat Dates!

I know we haven't even been to Spring Retreat yet, but I've had so many requests for the fall dates that I've set things up and will be signing the contract this week.  So, without further delay...

Please mark your calendars, start saving, register soon and plan to join me and all the other girls for the Fall Scraptabulous Retreat!!

November 9-11, 2012

You can find all the details on the retreat page.

I've also had requests or questions about paying/saving in advance.  I'm more than happy to take payments toward retreat at any time.  Deposits must be paid to reserve your space.  However, if you'd like to continue sending in payments to defer the final cost due at retreat, please let me know and I'm happy to accommodate.  I've had several girls do this in the past and it has worked out well for them.

If you have any questions about retreat, just ask.  :)  I hope you can join us this fall!

Lucy Club Projects

My crop club meets each month to create cute projects (free for members!) and submit their orders. This was the Easter/Spring project that they created at the last club night.

Sorry for the color variance in the photos.  They were taken on different days at different times and this is the result....*sigh*

The adorable basket I found on Pintrest by Rachel Ricks who has a tutorial over on her blog.  Go check out her little sewing basket - it's too cute!

I did make a few adjustments but not any that made a real aesthetic difference, mostly just for ease of cutting for me.  We made the versions that start with a 6x6 piece of paper.  Rachel mentions on her blog that it's easy to expand to a larger basket by starting with 9x9 or 12x12.  I'll try that out a little later and share my results.

Have a great Monday,

Spring? & A New Kit!

Seems we've had the mildest Winter here in West Michigan than I can remember in a very very long time.  It's nuts!  The other day, it was nearly 50 degrees and that never happens here in Winter.  It makes me think Spring is here.  Then, it's rains, snows and is cold for a few days to remind me that it will be a while.  My crocus, however, think otherwise.  They are a full inch out of the ground already!

Anywho, I've got a new kit to share with you today.  It's my new Page Packs +!  Let me show you the fab layout first and then I'll share the details on how you can get your own.

A closer look at the left page.

A closer look at the right page.

The It's Spring, Lucy! page kit features the Lucy papers, the Bitty Buds Assortment, Color Ready Seam Binding, Clear Rhinestones, the Love Life stamp set, the Diverse Backgrounds stamp set, the Urban Alphabet stamp set, and cuts from the CTMH exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge Collection.  It has space for 4 - 4x4 photos and 2 - 4x6 photos.  Ink colors are Blush, Sweet Leaf and Grey Wool.

Okedoke, here's the skinny.  PP+ is designed to get your photos on completed layouts and into your books.  After all, many of us are "behind" and if we're honest with ourselves, could use an extra completed layout here and there to help us catch up.  Let me help with an awesome kit, including a full pack of that month's embellishment, that is simple to assemble and looks great.  All you'll need to provide is the adhesive and the photos.  Each month on the first (or as close as I can get it) I'll share that month's kit on my blog.  You'll have until the 15th to order it.  Then, I'll get the kits ready for pickup, mail or for the FREE class.  Yes, you read that right - that's the + part!  If you're local (or visiting in town - hehe) and you can make it, you're invited to a free class at my house where you'll put together your kit, have a girls night out, nosh on some yummy goodies I've made (chocolate anyone?) and get tips and insights from me.  This month's class is on March 30 at 6:30 pm.

How much, how much?!?!  PP+ kits that are either picked up or made at the free class are just $10.00. The whole kit delivered straight to your door is just $12.50.

How do I order?  To order this month's  It's Spring, Lucy!  kit featuring the Lucy papers and a full package of the Bitty Buds Assortment, simply give me a shout.  You can comment below, email, call, or facebook message me to let me know you'd love to have this month's kit.  I'll have a few questions for you when you order like... Will you be able to attend the free class?  Would you like your kit mailed?  Would you like me to stamp your title for you? ...etc. so be ready!  Obviously that last one is for kits that are picked up or mailed.  If you're at class, you'll be using my stamps and inks!

I'll be working on a new tab at the top of the blog for PP+ kits with information, pricing and hopefully PayPal buttons for next month's kit.  I had so much fun creating this month's kit and I'm so excited to debut PP+!

If you made it through all of that, you deserve a pat on the back.  It sure was a long one today.  Thanks for sticking with me and have a wonderful weekend!
