Whatcha Doin'?

I know I'm not the only one out there who has a kiddo who watches Phineas & Ferb.  My post title today is courtesy of one of the characters on the show.  She says it every show and it's just too cute!

Anyway, I'm wondering "whatcha doin" on this Saturday, March 3rd.  I hope that if you have time, you'll consider joining me at a fundraising crop for New Community Church.  A good friend of mine attends the church and I'm going to be vendoring the event.  I'll have an awesome buffet of paper crafting goodness for you to partake in as listed below.  Won't you join me?

  • Leave your Cricut at home! Use mine and my Art Philosophy cartridge all day for just $5.00.  Only need one cut?  It's just $0.50 each!  I'll have mats to use and you're welcome to bring your own cartridges to use in my machine.  I will only have the CTMH exclusive Art Philosophy cartridge with me.
  • Make 'n' Takes!  Of course I've got some cute cards to make for a suggested donation of $1.00 each to the fundraiser.
  • Need adhesive?  I'll have runners and refills on hand for purchase and some seriously great prices well below retail!  If I run out at the crop, I'll run a list and order asap.
  • Lovin' the AP cartridge collection?  Get it for 10% off at the crop!  Can't be at the crop but would really love that deal?  Email me and tell me who says "Whatcha doin'?" on Phineas & Ferb to get the same deal.
  • Are you a digital scrapbooker?  You'll love Studio J!  It's totally free to try as much as you'd like with no commitment to buy.  Of course, when you see how easy it is and how much it has helped me catch up with my scrapbooks, you'll want to grab a membership asap!  Studio J memberships are all 10% off the day of the crop as well!  Not ready for a membership?  Take advantage of a BOGO on a 5 Pack.  That's 10 double page layouts for the price of 5!
If there's anything above you want more information on, just let me know and I'll get an answer to you right away.  :)

Have a great Wednesday,

Walls Like Photos

Remember my "One for the Wall" post last week or so?  I got the photo printed that I wanted in the right size and color shading and popped it on the layout.  Thought I'd share the finished project here before it went behind glass.

So much sweeter with the photo actually in it.  I'm now considering a title in the lower right corner area atop the ribbon and paper stacks.  Who knows, you might see this layout one more time.  Haha!

Thanks for coming by,

PS.  I know I'm a bit behind on the tutorials - sorry 'bout that!  Here's what's on my plate and what you'll see upcoming in the future.  A few cards for make'n'takes at crops I'm doing, a tutorial on the coffee cup card, the basket and card my club girls will make this month and then a tutorial on the basket.  Then projects for my FREE crop (March 17 - are you coming?? RSVP soon!) plenty of projects for B's Lego party I'm sure too!  Then I'll disappear for a tad bit while I madly make super secret projects for my retreat ladies.  I still have space (April 13-15) if you'd like to come to that too.  :)  Just let me know.  Yes, I'm busy as always!!

Owl Time

I saw a free printable on Pintrest from Hero Arts and decided I "needed" to practice my coloring on a card for a friend.

Lego Banner

The mini man has a birthday coming up in March so I've started work on the decorations.  He finally decided on a Lego theme and stuck with it for over a week.  That means it's a go.   :)  First thing we decided to tackle was the banner.  Sorry for the off color photos - I can't fit this thing in the light box and it's Winter in West Michigan.  (read: dreary and no sun)

The mini helped a lot too!  He peeled off all the backing on the foam squares for every one of those circles.  He's such a good helper.  :)

Each banner piece is 4x6 and the circles are cut from the AP cart at 1 3/4".  Six circles for each banner piece.  The letters are cut from the AP cart too.  They are the font stretched out to be taller with my gypsy, but you can do that in Cricut Craft Room too if you don't have a gypsy.  Then the letters are attached with foam too so they stand out from the lego a bit.  I will most likely hang the banner with some black ribbon when I get to putting it up.

I've been pinning away on Pintrest collecting ideas for the party - head on over and check out my new board if you aren't already a follower.  You might just see something show up on the blog that you've seen elsewhere.  *wink wink*

One for the Wall

I'm finally feeling better!  Thanks for all the well wishes.  :)

All week long I've had this idea rolling around in my head and I couldn't do a thing about it.  I just don't craft when I'm sick - it funks with the mojo and things just turn out weird.  Anyway, I finally got to sit down and make this page.  I have a photo of my son and I in mind for it and I'll be putting it in a frame for the wall.

Since it's going on the wall, I don't know that I'll be adding a title.  I don't really think it's required when it's on the wall and there's only one photo.  Then again, I might put one on before it goes up.

Here's a closeup of the embellishment cluster area.  The folded ribbon under the photo mat is a pull out journaling mat.  That way when it finally comes out of the frame, I'll have the journaling done already but it doesn't need to be displayed for the world to see.  Love hidden journaling!

Everything is CTMH - can you believe this is Typeset papers?!  Yes, I'm using old before new.  I'm trying here folks - it's a new year resolution thing.  :)

Have a great weekend!

Papers: typeset, colonial white cs, bamboo cs
Ribbon: wide chocolate stripe, color ready seam binding
Embellishments: wooden buttons, pearls, sparkles, garden wooden shapes, sparkles flourishes, bling assortment, flutter shapes
Other: foam tape, glue dots, liquid glass, regular old adhesive

Ugh...

Very under the weather today so I'm calling in sick as they say.  In fact, I'm just going to call in sick for tomorrow too.  Hopefully I'll be feeling less like a balloon head and have projects again in a few days.

Just For You, Stella

Welcome back!  I'm glad your here to see the good version of yesterdays attempts.  Here's what my club girls will be making tonight.

Much better.

Much cuter.

Way cooler.

Yes, I know the coffee cup shaped card is kind of random with the other two.  But I've been wanting to make one of these for a while and now that I've figured out the size and style that I like, I'm going to share!

My cup card is sized so you can tuck a gift card in it too.  I'll share the cut sizes and photo tutorial soon.  Just putting it all together this weekend.

On a random side note, I have a goal of making a video tutorial this year.  It seems like it would be a lot easier than all the photos and typing.  However, I'm video inept.  Seriously, we don't even own a video camera and I didn't have one growing up either.  All I've got is the video function on my camera - which is a decent one so I'm hoping that will work for now.  Any and all comments and suggestions for this video thing are very very welcome!  Thanks!!

Have a great weekend,

Not what I was hoping for...

We all have these moments and I thought I'd share some of mine with you.  After all, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes of blogging.  Here's what happened when I didn't get what I was hoping for the other day.  I'm hoping you've been there too.

Did you ever sit down at your crafting desk with an idea in your head and thought, this is going to rock!  Did it ever go not as planned...

Did you ever think you could fix it and then have that go wrong as well...

So on to another idea that might just fit the bill and look a lot better!  Until it didn't...although now that I'm posting it - I really do like this card.  I guess it just wasn't what I was trying to make originally.

And to top it off the camera lighting wasn't behaving.  It took a good 4 tries to get the cards just right for this month's club girls.  Come back tomorrow to see what they'll be making.  The good version, I promise.  :)

Craft Recipe Book

I'd love to make an effort to keep track of what I use on projects so that I can share those things with you.  I'm admittedly not very good at that.  I thought that maybe if I had something pretty to write in, I'd actually keep up with it.

For some reason, I can't get the blue flowers to photograph as the right color.  Think CTMH lagoon folks.

Thanks for stopping by today!
