Consultant Swaps

This past weekend I got together with some consultants I met at Regionals.  Turns out there were some consultants who are part of my same upline that are located nearly in my own back yard!  We talked at Regionals about getting together when the new book released and that's how I spent last Saturday afternoon and evening.  Chatting and creating - it was wonderful!!

We also decided to make a little swap.  Our only requirement was that it use new products and be a 3-D item from the AP cartridge.

I choose the new Stella pack and a new stamp set.  I made the purse cutout and chopped off the handles so I could use ribbon instead.  I also made 4 little 3x3 note cards for inside the purse to showcase what you could do with the stamp set besides just make a flower.

You know me, heaven forbid I use something for just what it's intended for.  :)  In addition to chopping handles, I also like to use my Rock the Block cubes for props when photographing.  LOL!  At least the ones that haven't been hit by ink yet.  I also decorated the insides of the cards.

My club girls will be making a version of something like this in February using this paper packet.  Can I hear a "Woo Hoo!"?

Turns out I'm not the only one who loved the Stella paper and that stamp set.  See what Amy made...

She used the pillow box cut for her project.

And here's what Jen made...

Thank goodness one of us picked a different paper pack!

We all decided that for the next Idea Book release we'll add a few more rules to our swap.  :)

Have a fabulous weekend,

A Card for the Boys

My friend Nicole has been wanting to start a card swapping club for a while.  She sent out an email late last year and got incredible response!  There are now 12 of us who will be making cards to swap with each other throughout the year.  There aren't any rules except for following a sentiment theme each month.  So, this means I'll get to use some of my non-CTMH products too and share what I make with you here.  Of course I have mostly CTMH stamps, so most cards will at least have those on them.

Here's my first card for 2012.

I wanted to make a more manly card since it always seems so easy to make the girly ones.  I never have a masculine card laying around when I need one to send.  In fact, I made these just in time to give mine from the set to my BIL for his birthday.  Happy B-day Bro!

I didn't have enough of the blue pattern to make 12 cards.  Checking with Nicole, she said it was totally fine and don't go buy something just for club - use what you've got!  I like how she thinks.  :)  So, I grabbed green.

I'm all for this little bit of inside flair that I tried on an earlier card I posted so I did it to these ones too.

All cardstock, stamps, ink and the twine are CTMH.  Yep - brand new grey wool twine coming in Feb!

Have a wonderful Wednesday,

All Wet

Here's the first layout I've created this year...

It's not exactly Winter-eque but Summer is where I'm at in B's book right now.  I was messing around with the settings on my old camera trying to correct the color issue I was having and it left me with these blue-ish photos that I really took during the twilight hour.  I figured I'd just go with it.  After all, not every photo is perfect and it shouldn't have to be to make it on a page.

Of course I have to journal yet (like most of his book) and I'm not sure if I will add more embellishment or just let the pattern paper swirls stand on their own.  Right now, I'm kind of into simplicity, so it might just be it for this layout.

On a side note, I got my photo center set back up in my room so now I've got pics of what I've been creating.  Yea!!  Sure was a pain not having that since we don't have sun at midnight around here.  :)

Have a great Monday!

New Stuff!!

Look-y what I got last week!!

And I wasn't the only one who was excited...

My son loves to stomp on the air packs and pop them.  :)

I was far more excited for what was inside.  Want to see??

Wooden shapes anyone?

How about some bling and twine?

Stamps, sparkly stuff, binder clips.....it's wonderful!!

How about some paper?

Here's the backs...

I started creating projects that day and I'll have pics for you soon.  I also choose to rearrange my room (before the box was supposed to arrive) so things were a tad messy when this box arrived.

Oye!  Well it no longer looks like that, but it's not photo ready either.  It also meant that my light box setup was getting moved and I haven't gotten back to that yet.  Soon, very soon though because my stack of 'to photo' items is piling up.  :)

Here's to a great week!

Administration

Oh my stars...I just realized that I still had an email address posted on my contact page that I do not check.  I had used it as a place holder and gave it to my friends, but never intended to use it for my main email.  If you email me, ever need to contact me, or just want to say hello, please update your contacts to reflect the email listed below.  I check it multiple times a day and it's one of the best ways to reach me.

gloriajrogers@gmail.com

Thanks all!

Exciting personal note - I hit 10,000+ hits on the new blog this past weekend.  Wowzers, ya'll - that's a lot!!  Of course I'm feeling like sharing the love with a little blog candy.  So, I'll be diggin' in my stash this week and I'll find a nice little something to put up for grabs.  :)

Have a great week,

Love Card for Mojo #222

I'm a tad behind for this week's Mojo sketch, but at least I'm getting it in there.  :)  Here's my card.

I used mostly CTMH products for this card and the Roxie paper packet.  The black semi-circle is 1/4 of a Gluber covered with black glitter.  Stamp images are from the Love Life stamp set.  I LOVE this stamp set.

I actually did the inside of this card as well.  Not my norm, but I've always liked seeing the nice decorated insides of cards on other's blogs.  I tried it - and liked it!

It might be a bit late to get in on this week's sketch:
but, you can always stop by tomorrow and get in on next week!

CFC #33...Take 2

**Second post today - please scroll down for the first post**

I was all ready to blog my CFC #33 card last night and then inspiration hit again.  So, I had to make this one as well...

So Sweet!! (har har har...)  Ok, bad comments aside, here's the scoop.  I started with twine directly on the card and secured a bit with some liquid glass.  I let it dry a bit and then started twirling it around in a circle and adhearing with liquid glass as I went.  Before I reached the end, I hand cut some quick wrapper ends from white cardstock and attached them so they would be under the final wrappings of the twine.  Then made the final round and secured with liquid glass.  I stamped the sentiment, added the lines and pink sparkles and then went back to the candy.  Below is a close up so you can see a bit better.

I finished the candy up with some liquid glass over the whole twine wrap to make it more shiny like it's in a real wrapper.  Then I put some CTMH stardust glitz glitter gel over the white cardstock pieces.  After drying overnight, the candy is complete!

Have a great day,

Kraft & Twine for CFC #33

I'm getting back into the swing of things and when I checked what was up over at CAS-ual Fridays, I knew I had to play along. It's twine and kraft - two of my favorite things!!

It took me all of 10 minutes to come up with an idea.  My brain is still in Christmas mode, so here's my card.

I had some leftover Cricut cuts from the Art Philosophy cartridge so I put them to good use.  Combined with the December special stamp set, some red stripped twine and some bling, it's just too cute!!  The ornaments are set out from the card with some foam tape and I used a kraft card base from CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!!  I didn't get to the computer yesterday to write up my goals, so here we go...

1. Make a layout every two weeks.  (I could say every week, but I know it won't happen.)

2. Make a card every week.

3. Make an altered item or 3-D item every month.

4. Complete and fully finish all scrapbooks.  This means finish all that journaling that I said I'd get to later but never did.

I've always found that sharing goals (or resolutions) with others or in a public setting keeps you more accountable than just keeping them to yourself.  I encourage you to share your goals for 2012 too!

I also realized today that I never had a post scheduled to wish everyone Merry Christmas.  So, Merry belated Christmas.  LOL!

One last side note - I'm in the middle of a scrap room re-org (again - LOL!) and I'll share pics as soon as I can.  Mostly just massive desk reorganization.

Have a great start to the new year,
