Bag in a Box

This great gift idea is not only fast, but can be used for any holiday or gift giving need. I made one this past Christmas for our friends from California. They fly out each year to celebrate and don't have lots of room to bring back presents so some candy and a gift card is a great idea!

Here is the bag/box all tied up with the tag attached...

...the candy and gift card w/holder inside the bag/box...

...and finally the gift card holder w/gift card inside.

I also made another style of this bag for our friends Kristin, Ben & Talia when they were expecting their new baby boy. I made the bag taller to accommodate a blanket sleeper and also included a gift card for them as well.

Here is their bag. Yes, she knew it was a boy.
A closeup of the detail on the front.
The brackets and "b" are chipboard w/ink.
The gift card in envelope inside the bag.
Yep, I forgot to take the picture before I tied the bow.

Christmas Cards

Yep, I'm still catching up on posting my Christmas projects. Right about now, I'm thinking that maybe next year I'll create the posts and schedule them as I make them to start the day after Christmas. Whew! On that note...here are the Christmas cards that I created for our immediate family members that would be at our family Christmas gatherings. They were all created using the same folding tri-fold pattern which can be found on splitcoaststampers.

Gingerbread Houses for Mom & Dad White and Mom & Dad Rogers
This was made using the Around the Block Stamp of the Month
Close up of the "front" of the card
Closeup of the "inside" of the card
Merry Little Snowmen for Mike & Mindy
This was made using the All Decked Out Stamp of the Month
Closeup of the "front" of the card
Closeup of the "inside"
Snow Covered Forest for Grandma Miller
This was made using the Evergreen Stamp Set

While each card was a lot of work, and I probably bit off a little more than I could chew so late in the season, they were well worth it! Each one was unique and amazing in person. I loved Loved LOVED them all. No, I didn't create duplicates to keep...this was just one of those things that was a bit too much for all that extra fuss. However, I've got pictures and I know where the recipients live if I ever want to go visit my cards. :)

MIL's Christmas Present

If you know my Mother-In-Law, you know she loves sweets. This year she mentioned that the hot chocolate (Ghiradelli) she got last year was really yummy...hint...hint. So, I just had to get her some again this year. However, I couldn't just wrap it up and give it to her plain! That's just not me. :) So, now that Christmas is over, here is her wrapped hot chocolate.

Of course, what's Ghiradelli hot chocolate without Ghiradelli chocolates to go with it?!? So I found this super cute box that holds 3 chocolate squares perfectly. Learn how to make your own by heading over to Mocha Memories and following Shelley's instructions.

Mom's Christmas Present

Since my mom reads my blog every day, (love you, Mom!) I couldn't very well go and post her Christmas present and have her see it! Now that she's got it, I can show everyone what I made her.

It's a three drawer chest (it's kind of deep because it was made to fit CTMH embellishment packages) that features the Silhouette Creative Basics papers.

I used the Pewter Brads as drawer pulls with foam behind them to make them pop out a little, a Colonial White ribbon slide and satin edge Colonial White ribbon to decorate the top. The sentiment card on the top is attached with very little adhesive so she can take it off whenever she likes.
I hope you enjoy your "embellishment dresser" Mom!

Happy Gifting Everyone,
Gloria

PS. Oops, I almost forgot to give props!! The design/dimensions/construction is my own because there is no pattern out there for the size I needed. That being said, I got 100% of the basic idea from Becky Roberts on her blog Inking Idaho. Although she's a Stampin' Up demonstrator, that doesn't matter to me. I believe that good ideas are good ideas and inspiration can come from anywhere. She's a huge inspiration to me and you should definitely check out her blog. :) Thanks for inspiring me Becky!

Card for FIL's Birthday

Now that it's long passed...it's time to post the card that I made for my Father-In-Law for his birthday. While he's not a man of big reactions to paper crafting (it's hard to top the wallet card from Father's Day), I'm sure he enjoyed it on some level. At the very least, I thought it was cool and so did my husband, so that counts for me!

Be warned... it's not CTMH paper. I know, I know, but there is other paper that exists in the world and this proves that I know it's out there. :)
I got the instructions on how to make this card HERE. It's origami, but don't worry, it's not too hard. :)

Happy Card Making,
Gloria

Get Free Stuff!

I've added a button below the new Idea Book on the right column. It's a link to CTMH's National Paper Crafting Month blog. Every day they post a cool new paper crafting idea. Plus, in celebration of National Papercrafting Month they are giving away our January Campaign, Felicity, every day!!! All you have to do is post a comment on the day's post. Then, they randomly draw a comment to receive a free Felicity package! How cool is that?

What is Felicity? Well, it's an exclusive paper packet and an exclusive stamp set that's just gorgeous. Here, go take a look:

There are many ways to earn it for free; place a $125.00 order, purchase $60.00 in stamp sets or host a $400.00 show. You can also purchase it for $34.95 or you can do like I am and go comment everyday!

Happy Scrapin' 'n' Stampin' (& Commenting),

Where Does The Time Go?

Holy Wow, Folks. It's 2010! I know, I'm a little late in recognizing that...but if you know me and read my blog, you know I'm always just a little behind the eight ball. Maybe it's because I'm always trying to tackle just one to many projects...anywho...2010 will be no different for me in that aspect. It's one resolution I haven't resolved to make yet.

If you get my newsletter - check it out. I'm doing a fundraiser on Jan. 23, a weekend retreat on Feb. 19/20 (I'll be there on the 20th) and of course, my retreat on May 21-23. Let me know if you need the details by posting a comment and I'll get it to you asap.

Since it's super late tonight and I need to go to bed, I'm hoping to update the ye ole blog tomorrow when Ben naps, but then again, it might take me a few days. :) Stay tuned...there's good stuff coming some day soon! LOL!
