Magazine Style Holder for Cards

My first 3-D project is this cute mini-magazine style holder that fits cards and envelopes. I found the instructions on how to make it from Blythe on her blog. I used Colonial White cardstock and Martha Stewart patterned paper (I know, not CTMH, but it was in the clearance section at Michaels...what can I say...) and finished it with our current Connections Club bling. Here it is with all 18 of the cards from my last card workshop in it.
I think I'm going to make one of each of these for the main categories of cards that I make and line them up on my scrap desk.

Car Guy Craig Rocks!

Car guy Craig rocks my socks. I just got an email from him that he's found us another car. He's going to try to get it this afternoon and will email me if he does. I know I shouldn't get excited too early, but I have to say that I'm literally doing the happy dance!!!! Picture that - me doing the happy car dance in my kitchen - you're welcome for the visual that will now be burned on your brain for the rest of the afternoon. :)

Woo Hoo!!! I'll post again when I know we've got the car.

The Great Car Search Continues...

Well, what can I say.....I don't have great luck with car searching I guess. The car that we were going to buy and had our financial application in and everything for it got sold by someone else, to someone else, right out from under us. To say I was furious was an understatement. I'm not happy at all with the Todd Wenzel dealership in Hudsonville. So there's my plug to never buy a car from there. ARG!!!!

So, now our car guy, Craig Ressel from the Infiniti dealership on 29th (there's my plug for him) is trying to find us a car just as close to the last one that we can buy. Cross your fingers that he finds something soon for us because I'm just getting frustrated with this whole process. Again, car shopping sucks.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though. I've been working on some very cool 3D paper projects that I'll be posting in the next few days. Stick with me gals, I really will get back to posting creative ideas. :)

Giraffes & Elephants, Oh My!

Hey all. I promised pictures of the crocheted giraffe I was working on and here it is all completed.

Isn't it just too cute. I didn't realize how big it was going to be until after I finished the body. Then I looked back at the pattern and realized that it was 17 inches tall!

Of course that wasn't the end of my crochet extravaganza. I got so into it that I created this adorable little elephant too!

This guy is much smaller than the giraffe. They look a little out of proportion next to each other, but they are just so darn cute that it doesn't matter to me!

New Car Blues

Our awesome car guy was not able to buy the car I wanted from the other dealership. So, now I'm singing the new car blues. I'm super bummed because he said he can't find anything matching our request. How hard is it to find a semi-new, low mileage Santa Fe. I don't want any special luxury features because I'm not used to them now. All I asked for was power locks and power windows (do they even make cars without that now?) and for it not to be red. ARG!

So now Joe and I get to have the, "What do we do now?" discussion tonight. Do we fix my broken car? OR Do we pay more at the other dealership for apparently the only car that meets my simple requirements?

New cars are supposed to be fun, but all I have to say is, "Car shopping sucks."

Love this Weather...& Crochet!

I really hope some of you have been able to get outside for a little while in the past few days. This weather is awesome! Warm and sunny enough to start a great tan but breezy enough so you don't sweat to death - can we have this all the time?!

I was fortunate enough to sneak outside this afternoon while Ben was napping. I wish I could scrap outside, but I know my stuff would go everywhere. So instead I worked on another hobby of mine, crochet. I saw some free patterns on www.lionbrand.com for the most adorable stuffed little animals and I had to make some of them. I'm working on the little giraffe, who is not so little. :) I'll post some pictures of it when I'm done. I want to do the elephant next and then....I don't know yet. They're all so darn cute that I'm sure that by the time I'm done, Ben will have a miniature zoo!

Sorry, I'm just on a roll with my every day posting and had to come up with something appropriate for today.

Hey All,

It's June 2 and I'm thinking that I might just post every day this month for those looking to get the blog candy prize. :) Remember that if you missed a day, you can still go back and comment on that post.

My news for today is that my car broke and I need to get a new one. BUMMER! Not that I couldn't use a new one, it's just that I don't like shopping for something like this when it's unexpected. We are looking at the small SUV class so that we'll have room for Ben, all his stuff and the ability to haul purchases from Lowe's. Ha ha, what crazy criteria! I think that I've decided on the Santa Fe, so now it's just a matter of getting one that is as new as we can afford with the lowest mileage we can find. Wish us luck! I'll post a picture of me and my lovely new car once we get it.
